In our drive to promote community care, our CSR team has made significant contributions to the health and education of the people in the Bharuch area, India. This was achieved by installing a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant in four government schools near our Ankleshwar site and a donation campaign to provide mosquito nets to families in the surrounding villages.

These projects were initiated in response to a rapid assessment conducted by the team in collaboration with our NGO partner, ARCH foundation, in areas where our company has manufacturing sites. The assessment revealed a concerning lack of safe drinking water facilities and an exceptionally high presence of mosquitoes in certain areas of the villages, posing considerable health risks.

Work on the RO plant installation started in January 2024 and was completed in March 2024 in all four schools. This project includes installation, repair and maintenance, as well as a sensitization program among key stakeholders for safe drinking water. This initiative benefits around 1227 students and 39 teachers by helping to reduce waterborne diseases and contaminants and making access to clean and safe water (a fundamental necessity) possible.

The donation campaign to provide mosquito nets to families in the villages, was initiated in two phases and completed in March 2024. Mosquito nets were distributed to around 635 families in the Sanjali and Umarvada villages. This is a cost-effective and efficient measure to address the high prevalence of mosquitoes and reduce mosquito-borne illnesses by providing a barrier of protection during sleep, especially for vulnerable groups like children and the elderly.

These initiatives help to cultivate a healthy community, leading to a more stable and productive workforce. In addition, it builds positive community engagement, while strengthening relationships with stakeholders.
