Indorama Ventures Xylenes & PTA (IVXP) is located in Decatur, Alabama. This facility was acquired from BP Amoco Chemical Company in April 2016. The IVXP Decatur facility manufactures Purified Terephthalicacid (PTA) and its raw material, Paraxylene (PX), it provides raw materials to AlphaPET Inc., co-located IVL business operation, as we as to external customers worldwide. The facility is the world’s only commercial merchant manufacturer of 2,6-Naphthalene dicarboxylate (NDC) and 2,6-Naphthalenedicarboxylic acid. In 2018, the IVXP Decatur facility began manufacturing Purified Isophthalic Acid (PIA). A site expansion in 2021 leveraged Indorama Ventures to become the world’s largest PNDA producer.
