RECO Collective

The RECO Collective, an initiative that invited young Thai designers to create special collections using recycled PET yarns. Initiated by Indorama Ventures, a global sustainable chemical company, the RECO program encourages young Thai fashion designers to embrace sustainability as a creative business and design challenge, using recycled materials, or repurposed objects, and avoiding the use of new materials. This approach fosters creativity and encourages designers to rethink their conventional design processes from the start.

This year, eight talented designers were selected to collaborate in the project. They have the unique challenge of creating a special collection made from 100% recycled PET yarns and fabrics provided by Thai Taïeta Co. Ltd, a well-known local RECO partner. DAPPER is our marketing partner, which supports with online promotion of RECO’s brands. All items produced by the RECO Collective are available for sale in selected retail spaces, including online.

By purchasing these products, you are contributing to positive change for our planet, fostering a circular fashion industry, and inspiring others to embrace eco-friendly practices.

RECO’S JOURNEY

Indorama Ventures is pleased to be commemorating more than a decade of sustainable fashion and recycling education, with its popular 'RECO Young Designer Competition,' now rebranded as the 'RECO Collective.'

We are proud that the RECO initiative has played such a pivotal role in educating and shaping the careers of over 1,000 aspiring designers since its launch in 2011. Our sustainability journey has not only enriched the lives of these individuals but also reached over 100,000 members of the public through exhibitions and roadshows.

In the same year that the company first acquired a PET recycling plant in 2011, we committed to educate the public about the circularity of recycled PET and sustainable fashion was chosen as a clear example of how PET bottles can be given a new life.

The initiative also nurtures young designers, empowering them to design and launch innovative sustainable brands and businesses that will contribute to keeping the environment clean.

As a globally recognized sustainable chemical company, Indorama Ventures stands at the forefront of pioneering sustainable business practices. RECO is a pioneer in the use of recycled apparel and the largest annual upcycling design competition in Thailand, raising public awareness of the value of recycled PET and polyester to create brilliant and inspiring designs.
