IVL Debenture Receives Great Interest from Investors
Bangkok, Thailand - 10 October 2011 - Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, the world's leading vertically integrated Polyester Value Chain producer, revealed that institutional investors have shown great interest in IVL's debentures during the bookbuilding process, thus the Company has decided to raise an additional Baht 1.5 billion to the original amount of Baht 6 billion, allowing the Company to move forward with its planned Baht 7.5 billion maiden Thai Baht debenture issue to institutions and general investors and having Bualuang Securities Plc. as financial advisor.
"I feel that our first ever debenture offering to Thai institutions and the public was exceptionally well-received and reflects the confidence of investors in our business, our sustainability and our strategy," said Mr. Aloke Lohia, Group CEO of Indorama Ventures.
"The issue will expand and diversify our investor base, provide access to a large and liquid market and reduce our cost of debt over the long term. Moreover, it adheres to our objectives of creating liquidity for our expansion plans," Lohia said.
The debentures will be open for subscription at branches of Bangkok Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. The subscription period will be during 14 October and 17-18 October 2011 while the issue date will be 19 October 2011.
IVL will offer the debenture in three tenors, five, seven and ten years. The coupon rate aiming to serve institutions was made at a single rate: 4.70% for five years, 5.04% for seven years and 5.35% for ten years.
The step-up coupon rates, aiming to attract retail investors, is also being offered to all investors. For 5-year tenor, the coupon rates are 4.50% in the first three years and 5.05% for the last two years. For 7-year tenor, the coupon rates are 4.75% in the first four year years and 5.50% in last three years. For 10-year tenor, the coupon rates are 5.00% in years one to four, 5.50% in years five to eight and 6.00% in years nine to ten.
More than half of the investors have shown more interest in long tenor bonds than medium term tenor, so the proportion of 7-year and 10-year tenor debentures to be issued is greater than the 5-year tenor. This will help IVL secure its long-term source of funds.
The lead arrangers are Bangkok Bank Plc and Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) Plc.
