Indorama Ventures sponsors the Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association's 2024 activities and competitions
Bangkok, Thailand – 16 January 2024 – Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, a global sustainable chemical company, represented by Mr. D K Agarwal, Deputy Group CEO and CFO, together with the Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association (TAWA), led by Mr. Prachaya Keeratinant, TAWA President, signed a sponsorship agreement to support TAWA's activities and competitions over a period of one year. As one of TAWA’s official sponsors, Indorama Ventures will support Thailand’s weightlifting community, create opportunities for youth in sports competitions at both local and international levels, and foster PET waste management and recycling cooperation between the private sector and sports industry.
As part of the partnership, Indorama Ventures will also contribute polo shirts crafted with Deja™ yarns made from recycled PET, to commemorate the International Weightlifting Federation World Cup 2024, to be hosted in Phuket from 31 March – 11 April 2024. The sustainable polo shirts represent both parties’ commitments towards promoting the circular economy and environmental stewardship. Furthermore, the collaboration will explore a joint corporate social responsibility (CSR) project to promote PET waste management and recycling by advocating for responsible practices within the weightlifting and sports communities.
