IVL’s CSR team successfully hosted a workshop to promote a circular economy for the hotel and tourism industries
Indorama Ventures sponsored Phuket Hotels for Islands Sustaining Tourism (PHIST), Southeast Asia’s biggest and best responsible travel and hospitality forum. On 26th September, over 500 delegates from across Southeast Asia gathered in person to address environmental issues facing the industry and devised ways to tackle unsustainable tourism.
The CSR team, in collaboration with the Yunus Foundation Thailand, hosted a session “Waste Hero Hotels: Zero Waste Systems and Materials for Sustainable Tourism”. More than 50 people attended the session and proactively came up with creative ways to promote a circular economy for the hotel and tourism industries.
Besides the workshop, we also promoted best practices for hotel waste segregation and ways to generate extra income for the local junk shop in Phuket.
