Orion Global PET supports NGOs and is part of the “Let’s Do It” project to collect waste on cleanup days. 1380 tons of waste was collected in 2019.
Indorama Ventures Xylenes and PTA employees volunteered to collect used household chemicals from city residents. 8,650 pounds of chemicals including 8 old automobile batteries, and 230 gallons of used oil were collected and properly disposed of by the company.
Indorama Ventures Poland welcomed the winner of the art competition "Ecology for me is ..." to visit their operating site on International Environment Day. The children made beautiful ecological shopping bags and planted trees in the company's area together with employees.
Performance Fibers (Kaiping) organized a plant visit and training for students and teachers of Kaiping Gangkou Middle School, which is located nearby the plant. The workshop visit allowed students and teachers to understand the company’s principles in operating the plant successfully and ways of addressing environmental concerns.
Subsidiaries of Indorama Ventures in Rayong participated in the International Coastal Cleanup 2019 at Laem Charoen beach-Suchada Beach, Mueng Rayong to encourage communities and employees to become more concern about environmental problems and to promote sustainability.
To raise awareness of environmental conservation and promote local biodiversity, TPT Petrochemicals employees released 10,000 tilapia fish into Dok Krai Reservoir, Rayong Province.
Employees at Indorama Petrochem repaired, performed maintenance check and planted trees around the dam at Poo Don Community Forest with the community people to conserve the environment. This will help increase the collection of rainwater to be used in drought seasons to keep the forest green.
Performance Fibers (Kaiping) hosted the PF 2019 5S Outward Bound Activity where employees spent 30 minutes of the working day collecting waste in public parks around Kaiping. 25 kg of waste was collected in this event.
Indorama Ventures Polímeros raised awareness on the importance of recycing for people in the community with activities from recycled PET bottles. The event promoted how recycling is able to create jobs and save the enviornment.
On the occasional of Pope Francis’ visit to Thailand, IVL collaborated with Less Plastic Thailand to teach volunteers about waste separation. The volunteers informed guests who attended the event on which bin to put each type of waste, leading to good waste management.
IVL, in collaboration with Rayong Hospital, held a knowledge sharing session on waste separation with a workshop on ideas to create useful crafts from recycled PET bottles. More than 50 people were in attendance from the province’s Village Health Volunteers to learn about the benefits of reusing and recycling PET.
TPT Petrochemicals Pcl providing training on waste separation and PET recycling to students to raise awareness about waste collection and separation to help protect the environment. Company donated 500 T-shirts made from recycled PET bottles to students and teachers at Wat Krok Yai Cha School in Rayong.
On World Environment Day, IVL HO arranged an activity for employees and colleagues in the office building to collect PET bottles in exchange for gifts including eggs, plants, eco straws, and recycled PET t-shirts. 63 kg of bottles were collected and transported to be recycled at the Nakhon Pathom factory.
IVL took part in supporting a sustainable living in Wonderfruit 2019, a festival to celebrate arts, music, and life. On this regard, IVL arranged a DIY workshop allowing attendees to create their own pouch made of PET bottles and aiming to enact a creative idea of using plastics creatively.
Indorama Ventures Xylenes and PTA presented Cedar Ridge Middle School with a check for USD 2,000 from the Keep America Beautiful initiative. The students collected over 10,000 lbs. of recycled materials and reached their goal of 9,000 lbs. for the year. This was a combined effort between Cedar Ridge Middle School, Indorama Ventures Xylenes and PTA and AlphaPet with the support of the Keep America Beautiful Organization and the City of Decatur’s recycling program.
Indorama Ventures Packaging (Philippines) provided PET bottles and collaborated with the Local Government Unit of Villanueva and employees, community people to create a beach bench by using eco-bricks.

TPT Petrochemicals offered scholarships to the children of employees at the Sea Turtles Conservation Center, Royal Thai Navy, in Sattahip, Thailand. The employees and their families, with members of TPT Cycling Club, also participated in an activity to release sea turtles and snappers in support of conservation and biodiversity.
Indorama Petrochem PET’s CSR team joined with Poo Don communities to build check dams to prevent soil erosion, slow the flow of water downstream and help re-establish vegetation for grazing.
